Ready for a new type of patriarch and patriarchy?
In anticipation of Father’s Day, I want to share with all the amazing men who are uncomfortable with and dislike the words patriarch and patriarchy, and who do not want to be associated with our current understanding of it, an intuitive and spiritual context for a Beneficial Patriarch.
In fact, regardless of gender, if this concept resonates with you, then it is something you can choose to embrace.
To understand what is meant by patriarchy in this current time and so that we can appreciate and embrace a new society that hold Matriarchy and Patriarchy as equals, here is a brief description of society’s current understanding of patriarchy:
In society today, patriarchy is loaded with negative connotations. For those people who want to dismantle the patriarchy, the word is used to represent the old, traditional ways of living that includes law, processes and attitudes that no longer benefit the majority of people. It is associated with those serving who are dominated by an aggressive masculinity, only using their conscious mind thinking, often to promote their own interests for their own benefit. This type of patriarchy is conditioned through all society in the western world and has dominated family life, education, how children, women, vulnerable and minority society’s are treated and has directed how workplaces must be.
In spiritual terms, the concept of Beneficial Patriarch allows and encourages all of us to create, develop and use ways of being that are intuitive and give everyone opportunity. What we do with that opportunity is up to each of us, but the Beneficial Patriarch understands that the route to transforming society is through opportunity for all. The concept of Earthly Matriarch supports the planet and the whole of the Cosmos, focused on the macro aspects of life on this planet. The Beneficial Patriarch focuses on the details in life, including commerce, technology and industry. For example, making space for processes, methodologies and frameworks that are free of bias and encourage different thinking, so that profit* is no longer the primary motivator, it allows space for intuition and the desire for the greater good to shine through.
How do you start embracing the concept of Beneficial Patriarch?
Regardless of gender, anyone can embracing this concept if it resonates with them.
Start by opening your eyes and all your senses, look and feel what are the conditioning and patterns in your life. Have you been caught up in the traditional old-style patriarchal way of living? Do you blindly accept what people in authority tell you? This goes beyond government or other types of institution, but also areas that directly impact you and your life on a daily basis: who you work for, who you report to, the decisions made by the company you work for or by medical professionals or others who may be subtly exerting influence on your life, and you do not question it. You may see these patterns from childhood, education or in your family.
You may have been sleep walking through life and unconsciously accepting things that cause you emotional or psychological pain. It is time for you to start questioning yourself and the conditioning around you. To stop making assumptions and accepting things as they are if they do not feel right to you. Embrace the concept of Beneficial Patriarch as you start this questioning phase of your life. As you start to see the world differently you may be angry, disillusioned or question your own choices. That is a natural part of the human condition and it does pass. Forgive yourself for being caught up in this conditioning. Now that you know there is a different way, you can explore ways of being and living that work for you.
It is time to stop accepting and believing everything you are told and to reclaim your intuition. This is the ‘other way’, the intuitive way to reclaim the concept of patriarchy and to be part of a collective Beneficial Patriarchy believing in and creating opportunity for all.
